Chevrolet CSV CR8

Chevrolet is introducing to the region (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) the world's first production "track-day" car at the Bahrain International Circuit and the car will be displayed at the highly anticipated 9th Middle East International Motor Show in Dubai in mid November. The Chevrolet Special Vehicle (CSV CR8) is one of the most aggressive, unyielding high-performance cars on the market, and customers had better be prepared for the sheer exhilaration that 400 bhp provides.

The thing about CSV CR8 is that it only attracts the type of buyer who wants to experience everything the 6.0-litre V8 will give them. Even though it can be just as easily driven on the road, this Chevrolet's natural habitat is on the circuit, and that's where it shines brightest. This is a car that everyone will want but most will only dream of.

The CSV CR8 is a precise, credible machine with its efficient mechanism and phenomenal acceleration and engine performance. What's more, there's no mistaking its thoroughbred race character from its aggressive exterior styling.

The powertrain incorporates a 400 hp at 6000 rpm engine – sourced from the ultra-competitive Corvette and the weighty matter of 550 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm for scintillating track performance.

Riding on 19-inch low-profile wheels, the CSV CR8 is hard to miss with its large fender vents that are unique to the model. This leads on to an aggressive and distinctive front fascia with projector headlamps, duel driving lights and a prominent CSV badge to warn others of its explosive performance.

At the back, the CR8 is equipped with a meaty quad-exhaust system with bold wind diffuser, a bold, sport-style LED tail lamps with 3-D effect blend into the sports rear wing and between front and back, there are unique side skirts.

Safety is most important when travelling at the high speeds that the CSV CR8 is capable of. Hence, the massive brakes, with brake assist and electronic brake-force distribution, are capable of guiding the car to a standstill from 100 km/h in just 36 metres. This puts the car among the best in this segment.

Alongside ESP, traction control and two-stage driving lights that significantly improve visibility, passive safety features include front and side airbags and active head restraints.

Meanwhile, the cabin shows off its CSV racing pedigree with distinctive leather seats with strong bolster design and lateral support, a CSV-developed steering wheel with grooves that give extra grip and a true race-car feel, and branded instruments with three information windows and white dials.

As a true Chevrolet, the CSV CR8 doesn't come with a supercar price tag; it rather offers the most up-to-date technology and engineered precision at the most value price.
